Nature-based solutions to climate change (Colombia)
Aquatera Atlántico, together with Aquatera group, supported the capacity building of public officials from the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of Colombia along with other key public organizations in climate change in the country’s marine-coastal space. Colombia’s rich ecosystems, biodiversity, and water resources make nature-based solutions to climate change critical to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Aquatera Atlántico designed a specific training programme for knowledge management on the threats to marine-coastal zones in Colombia, which is essential to understand and predict physical processes and, as a result, implement appropriate measures aimed at reducing the vulnerability of the country’s coastal zones and ensuring their continued contribution to climate mitigation objectives.
