Underwater Radiated Noise Assessment

Development of Underwater Radiated Noise (URN) Assessment Toolkit

Aquatera Atlántico is supporting Aquatera Ltd and BlueOASIS in the development of the Underwater Radiated Noise (URN) Assessment Toolkit, commissioned by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) under the GloNoise Partnership; the first coordinated global initiative to address underwater noise from shipping. The Toolkit, hosted on an interactive e-learning platform, will provide countries with practical resources to assess, manage and mitigate the impacts of shipping noise on marine ecosystems, in line with IMO’s Revised Guidelines (MEPC.1/Circ.906).
