Xabier joined Aquatera in 2021, having worked for 12 years in a Spanish marine test centre, where he gained extensive knowledge of the needs of developers, first as an operations engineer and later as platform operations manager. He has a background in Mechanical Engineering and extensive experience in managing various renewable energy projects, ranging from wave energy converters to offshore wind and floating solar.
He also has experience in the design, operation and maintenance of oceanographic moorings. After graduating, his engineering skills were also consolidated in the automotive industry, where he worked for five years.
